As was stated before it is all about making connections. The more people that know you in pvp the better. One way to not get taken into groups is to have a rank discretion. When Spartan and Chamalee invited me to GANK i had but a lowely wolf comapred to their pheniox and might r 14 powers-.-. Point is rank isnt for handouts you have to work toward the title. I have all but stopped pveing as so I can ha. I have been like this for a few months and well needless to say I have goteen about 5k fame being rather lazy and holding halls here and there. Tbh it isn't that hard to get fame. Run alot of aoe and you win. If you want Ha to be semi alive again Izzy needs to nerf aoe and revert back to the old maps and "tombs" may be reborn again. The amount of time it takes the OP to read all of these comments and post he could have had 20-30 fame toward his bambi. Stop QQing and start Pew Pewing. Calculate each day you spend on guru or wiki and write it down for a week, then pm me that amount of time and then i will tell you. Look you wasted that much time on forums when you could have been haing. gg.

Thats how HA is when you are good, ironicly. you go in, have fun, win halls a few times. do this a few days in a row, and one day you will hit H on accident and go "hey guys, im only x fame away from new rank, lol" and everyone will go "lol" back.
Now i dont know much about your guild TAM, never heard of them honestly, but you guys have enough QQers on fourms, you could form up, make a group, and HA and see why we laugh at this thread.

Seriously, if you guys didn't cry all day and want everything spoon-fed to you, you'd be able to get it. I was unranked when everyone and their moms were looking for r9+ groups, and still managed to get rank. Why? Because I don't bitch and whine about being rejected from the higher ranked groups. I find my way around it.

I was going to flame at first, but after thinking about it for a minute I realized this is actually a pretty good idea. IMO make it r5 or lower and make it last for 4 days even. HA is dying and needs more players.
The thing is, yes...there are ways to gain rank as a low rank. Its not totally impossible. Problem is it ussually involves a rate of maybe 1 or two fame per hour at best. Hardcore players can stomach it, but casual players who are not masochistic are more likely to just give up and go back to Pve/RA.
Anyone who doesn't believe me is free to try and make a new character, turn off your hero title, pretend to be a r0, and see if you can still say that gaining fame as a rankless player is just as easy as it was a year ago with a straight face.
Problem is HA is still pretty borked balancewise. They should still fix those issues first before attempting any sort of HA events...including the double weekend.

I think thats the point. You have a choice, PvE/Ra or HA. I want 30 maxed titles in PvE land, should there be a way for high ranked PvP people to get Max PvE titles faster? Like say since I'm Glad 4 then I earn Asuran points faster until I get around r8 and then it goes back to normal? You know, cause try finding a group when your only r2 Asuran and your Pain Inverter isn't very powerful.
People get to maxed Asuran with out special treatment, and people get to r9 Hero without special treatment.
Yeah, I know The "Asuran Title" is easier to farm/max than Hero, I just thought I would be simple in explaining my point and not confuse anyone, though I'm sure I still did though.

Considering I'm spending more time farming exp for Survivor 3 than trying to PvP, you might be on to something.

I see what you are saying here, but PvE has the benefit for most of it that you don't have to waste 15 minutes to find a group or worry if one if someone is going to do something stupid and get everyone wiped and spend another 15 minutes looking for a few new people.

Okay, I was just thinking about it from the other angle. What if there were some sort of weekend if you got bonus fame if:
1. You were at or above rank 3.
2. At least half your party was from rank 0-2 when you started that run.
Note this extra bonus would only apply to the people at or above rank 3.
In order to offer encouragement for people who are new to HA at well as vets, everyone would get +3 fame for every 3rd consecutive match won... in other words double fame if you can win three in a row. Once they get to HoH, people get double fame for winning it.
My reasoning is thus:
1. It gives vets some encouragement to take on newer people and to train up the competent ones. They'd get double fame for teaching lowbies and triple fame if their group can also win at least 3 in a row.
2. More casual people would get some bonus fame, but only if they learn and work at it.
3. Vets would get a chance to show people why they should try PvP more often, if those people win some of them might stick around and come back more often. Thus HA would get some new blood to freshen it up.
4. Casual players and new players would be given a prime oppertunity to network and make connections with more experience players, if they play their cards right they'll wind up with some people on their friends list to make getting into HA runs more easier and they might get remembered by experienced people when the vets are doing a run and need someone.
5. While rewards are given, they aren't given too easily.
Any comments on the revamped idea?

Yeah, good idea. But maybe just 3 OR MORE r0-2.
Veterans get rewards for helping weaker players, and they can help the veterans getting those rewards.

Believe me, those "veterans" don't want to pug with strangers. Also, as said before, they will just fame farm their new accounts.

I find your post ironic.
I love HA bitch-threads. It reminds me that there is a worse thing in this game than how ANet has destroyed the PvE with imbalanced skills and power creep, and that's how the players have destroyed the PvP.

How will they farm fame with new accounts? Even if they launch 2 GW's, they would have to manage playing 2 accounts at once. Or they would just play at a disadvantage, 4-5 vs 8.

WTF is this thing about drops to pvp. I mean you can buy them and join PUGs. This whole rank thing is retarded, no one cares. PUGs care, PUGs are bad. HA is accesable, you can form a group straight away. They will be bad, yes. But isn't EVERYONE IN HA? lol. Seriously. Next, you don't beat computers on chess the first day you start playing chess, do you?

IMO a weekend without fame and hidden ranks would be good. People who know others will still play with them. And pugs would for without rank discrimination (there will be other types of discrimination but not so severe). But then again I only try to HA since I want the chest , I don't care about fame , bambies and other crap.

a weekend without fame and hidden ranks would just mean guilds would slaughter PUGs even more than usual. guilds obviously know which of their members have which rank. it wouldn't get the new players anywhere, except maybe send them back to pve.

Vets can play with other vets and get hundreds of fame per night. There's no way they will be able to match those numbers with a team of unranked players / PvErs, even if they get twice or three times the fame as usual for playing with them. Your idea would present veteran players with the following choices:
A. Continue grouping the same way they currently do for guaranteed fame.
B. Try helping newbies out for the possibility of earning less fame if they can even win that much.

A bit late answer:
You know, they just join their friends. It's not really complicated.
